Will Climate Change Bring An End To Maple Syrup?

A new study has found that the trees that make maple syrup will struggle to survive climate change. For the study, researchers examined 20 years of tree and soil data in four Michigan locations to determine that an extra boost in nitrogen from car pollution, factories, and agriculture won't be enough to buffer sugar maples. The study was reported in Ecology magazine, stating that a lack of water will stunt the trees’ growth.
