Parris Mitchell is a name synonymous with Dance Mania, the Chicago record label that pioneered ghetto house.

Emerging in the late '80s, Dance Mania sparked a hard, fast, sexually charged form of four-to-the-floor which continues to resonate throughout club music today.

Though Dance Mania wasn't restricted to releasing ghetto house, it's certainly what it's best known for. Key hits include 'Video Clash' by Lil Louis and 'Feel My M.F Bass' by Paul Johnson, both raw, stripped-back, fiercely libidinal bangers that define what the label is all about.

Enter Parris Mitchell. Though he had other aliases (Pleasure Inc., Rhythm II Rhythm, Victor Romeo), it's frenetic cuts like 'Ghetto Shout Out' and 'All Night Long' that laid him down in ghetto house history, as well as the mad acid/jazz/booty fusion that is the 'Life In The Underground' album, which fizzes with unbridled electricity.

Dance Mania celebrates its history with a new retrospective on Strut this month and some of the label's key players are playing dates across Europe. Jammin' Gerald, DJ Funk and the man Parris Mitchell are all over on the continent, so we called Parris in for a special In Session mix.

In typical ghetto style it bangs hard and is mixed quick fire, brimming with pelvic thrust and pure attitude. No tracklist. One for the weekend; let's go.

Parris Mitchell plays Find Me In The Dark x Body Hammer at Corsica Studios, February 22
