The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, we are putting on another double-header opening with an explosive back-to-back set from Hector and David Gtronic.

Hector, internationally known for his crazed techno and house style, will be arriving to The Lab NYC with a handful of astounding upcoming releases. Fresh off his own label, VL Recordings, the Vatos Locos crew leader shows off his latest solo EP 'Jacuzzi Killer' on digital and 12-inch. The four-track collection includes originals and exclusive productions, as well as a special Rolando edit of Hector's 'Flu Plus'.

An especially exciting compilation by Yousef that highlights culture around the word is slated for a release later this year and will also feature a collaboration with Hector. The contribution to the EP 'Three Cities' will have our Lab performer representing Mexico City on Circus Recordings.

With no intentions of slowing down, Hector will also be lending his talents with remixes for Subn-an on WOW and Nicole Moudaber's BREED on MOOD Records this fall.

David Gtronic will join Hector in The Lab NYC for his opening slot. Gtronic is a fellow member of Hector's Vatos Locos, a music collective of under-the-radar DJs and producers who gained momentum over the years for throwing incredibly over-the-top parties at BPM Festival. Known as "the crazy ones", Vatos Locos has evolved into an entire event series and movement based around first-class music curation and party-until-sunrise culture.
David has just dropped a new EP on Hector's VL Recordings, a collaborative collection developed with lULY.B featuring five original tracks. The 'Fusion EP' comes on digital and vinyl, offering a format-exclusive for each and boasting Gtronic's deeply meditative house style. With previous releases on Suara, Serkal and Moan Recordings, the Columbian talent is on the rise as one of the underground's top new acts.
