The Channel The Worlds Busiest Waterway Series 1 3of4

The English Channel is the world’s busiest waterway: 400 ships pass through the 21-mile-wide Dover Strait every day. It defines our border with Europe, but has brought us closer to it: the free flow of goods and people has transformed our economy and our lives.

Part 3:
This episode follows the work of Dave, manager of the Nemo Project, a multi-million-pound electricity cable being laid between Britain and Belgium, as he attempts to stick to the schedule to avoid delays which could cost a six-figure sum. Meanwhile, the project has pushed fisherman Steve out of his fishing grounds, and already hampered by EU fishing quotas, Steve hopes for a different future on Brexit.
