An eight-storey residential building burnt down in a fire caused by exploding fireworks in a supermarket.

In the video, captured in Baise City in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on January 15, sparks fly out of the supermarket on the ground floor of the residential building, which is engulfed in flames and thick smoke.

The fireworks stored in the supermarket were lit by sparks, reports say.

The fire was put out and no casualties were reported.
