Notes...
Cesaro vs. Enzo wouldn't usually make the list but you need to have WWE footage or people get pissed, even though in terms of botches there was barely any catastrophes this year. The standard of wrestling is too high, dammit.
Thank fuck for Triplemania, making up three matches on this video. I picked Drunk Jarrett over Star for the top-spot as Torneo was indirectly responsible for ending the GFW/Impact merger, which is quite impressive for a bad match. Both were the absolute worst, not helped by Kevin Gill and Kevin Gill's pal on commentary with no notes.
That CMLL match didn't make it into Botchamania until now because I don't watch lucha as I can't tell the difference between bad lucha and good lucha. I see matches like the Leyendas Mexicana one and think it's bad but then I'll see a load of ***** reviews and CLASSIC REAL LUCHA comments and decide this isn't for me.
The rest of the PCW match was fine, but that's the greatest botch of 2017, I'm sorry. Was she going for a Van Terminator/Coast To Coast? Did she expect Saraya to walk towards her? The world may never know, but fell credit to Stallion on commentary for trying to bullshit a reason. ''Did she have hair in her eyes? Was she seeing double?''
The rest of the Xplosion match was fine too, after that horrible minute of awfulness. It blows my mind that this match was PRE-TAPED weeks in advance and that's how they put it on TV.
If you disagree with the selection or have your own opinions, please keep them to your self. Or leave a comment, either/or.
