In the video, filmed in Mesa, Arizona on January 8, little Averi is playing the game - which involves two players and a lot of whipped cream - banging away at her red button, sat with her faces inches away from her opponent, step-mom Jillian, who is doing the same.
Her father is the one behind the camera.
But Jillian wins out by pushing her button the most - leaving Averi with a face full of whipped cream.
And she does not like it, screaming and crying and diving on to her stepmom's lap for solace.
Writes Jillian with perfect understatement: "We were playing Pie Face Showdown as a family and let Averi win the first round, but in her second round she lost and was not thrilled about losing."
