U.S. EAST COAST— A meteorological phenomenon known as Bombogenesis, or a cyclone bomb, may occur off the eastern U.S. coast this week.

According to CNN, this occurs when an area of low pressure drops by more than 24 millibars in 24 hours. The result is a bomb cyclone.
