United States Prepares To Kick Off 2018 With Record Cold

Much of the United States will kick off 2018 in the cold, as record lows are expected to sweep across the Eastern seaboard.
But a larger swath of the country, from Maine to Montana will feel the chill as they ring the new year.
Record-setting lows are also expected to linger throughout the first week of 2018.
Weather Channel meteorologist Jonathan Erdman expects New York City to have the coldest New Year's Eve in a century.
