2017 Most Talked About Pop Culture Moments

A lot has happened in the last twelve months so let’s look back at the top pop culture moments that shaped Twenty-Seventeen.

Beyoncé kicked of the year by announcing her pregnancy. This photo was the most liked photo of the year and then in July, Beyonce and Jay Z announced the birth of their twins, Rumi and Sir.

Who could forget Kendall Jenner’s disastrous Pepsi commercial? The ad was savaged around the world for being so completely out of touch and making light of serious issues like the Black Lives Matter Movement that Pepsi pulled the commercial and issued an apology.

Pop culture took a back seat when terrorists attacked an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds more. A charity concert thrown later, raised over thirteen million dollars for the victims.

On a happier note, George Clooney and wife Amal welcomed twins Ella and Alexander in June of this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also announced that they were having another child, their third royal baby.

But that announcement was eclipsed when Prince Harry proposed to American actress Meghan Markle. The Ginger Prince had been dating the Suits star for quite some time and their engagement is still talked about daily.

And the story that will continue into 2018 and for the foreseeable future is the accusations against Harvey Weinstein and other industry players.

Over 84 women so far have made claims that Weinstein sexually assaulted, sexually harassed or raped them with slews of other Hollywood stars, not just women, coming forward to say that they have had suffered through similar experiences.

And we haven’t talked about Donald Trump yet! So hang on, 2018 is shaping up to be even wilder!
