Tourists flocked to Whitby to watch hundreds of people take part in the annual Boxing Day Dip, which sees participants brave the cold temperatures of the North Sea for charity.
The event has been taking place for over 45 years in which local citizens and tourists gather along seaside to cheer the dippers on.
Participants dress up in fancy dress and on this occasion swimmers dressed as Santa elves and even human traffic cones.
