Britain: 9,000 people sleeping in cars, trains for Christmas

When Paula was evicted from her home, she spent three months sleeping in her car, concerned for her safety and her health. But she's not alone - more than 9,000 people in Britain are sleeping in tents, cars, trains and buses across Britain, according to Crisis, the national charity for homeless people. The charity is receiving an expected 4,500 homeless guests at its Christmas crisis centres throughout the country over the festive period, which provide guests with a hot meal, advice and services ranging from specialist healthcare to repairing torn sleeping bags and rucksacks.
