A stunning time lapse clip shows the sun going down over California on Friday followed by the spectacular launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

The beautiful clip was filmed from Mount Helix in La Mesa, California.

The launch on Friday from Vandenberg Air Fore Base sent social media into overdrive with users speculating about the strange lights in the sky and many claiming to have spotted a UFO.
