Lagarde: 'Gloomy' post-Brexit forecast proved right

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde has defended the organisation's "gloomy" forecast for a post-Brexit British economy, as it downgraded the UK's 2017 forecast from 1.7% to 1.6%. Ms Lagarde was delivering the preliminary conclusions of the IMF's Annual Review of the UK's economy at HM Treasury in Westminster. She highlighted the UK's slow rate of growth, low productivity, and the effect on businesses of uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Report by Jonesia.
