Abandon Ship! started out as the solo efforts of Louis Knoetze.
During 2012 Abandon Ship! played a few small live shows across Pretoria and Johannesburg, but still focussing more on other musical projects.
Finally in June 2013 Abandon Ship! went into studio at High Seas Studios in Joburg to record the debut EP. This was recorded with producers Marc de la Querra and Jacques du Plessis.
In September 2013 Abandon Ship! grew into a full band.
