VIVA LION!

VIVA LION! is the moniker of Daniele Cardinale, an italian musician grown in the local alternative rock scene.
Daniele moved to Toronto, Canada in 2009 and stepped into the folk scene.
In Canada wrote his first acoustic songs.
Back to Italy joined Cosecomuni, an independent label focused on indie rock and quality recordings. He now lives between Rome, Toronto and Los Angeles.
Claudio Falconi from the rock'n'roll act Grannies Club joined Viva Lion! in 2012 as guitarist and back vocalist.
They became an acoustic duet and started playing everywhere, and almost everyday, in tiny clubs, bars, clothing stores and houses.
September 2012 was a key time for VL! with a mini tour in Southern California: San Diego, Venice, Los Angeles and Hollywood at House Of Blues. They drove to the Joshua Tree National Park and filmed a live set together with the folk singer Megan Pfefferkorn.
Debut album "The Green Dot Ep" was released in January 25th 2013 via Cosecomuni, produced by the italian famous Pierluigi Ferrantini, mixed by Alessandro Sgreccia at Cosecomuni Recording Studio and mastered by Christopher Fogal at Black In Bluhm Studio in Denver, CO.
"The Thrill" is the first single, followed by "Goodmorning/goodnight" feat. Megan Pfefferkorn. The music video for this song was filmed in Los Angeles.
Each track of the EP hosts a guest: Velvet, Roads Collide, the worldwide troubadour Gipsy Rufina and the american folk singer Megan Pfefferkorn, turning a solo project into a collective with the likes of canadian Broken Social Scene.
The newborn family hosts doubling musician Marco Lo Forti, graphic designer Federico Antonini, videomakers at Il Polimorfo and turkish photographer Ozge Sahin.
2013 is the year of Viva Lion!, split between Rome (Daniele Cardinale and Marco Lo Forti) and Los Angeles (Claudio Falconi). About 60 shows played in Italy and California, with successful performances at the world famous The Viper Room in Hollywood, CA, where they played twice.
Since October 2013 Daniele has been touring by himself, acoustic guitar and vocals.
2014 has seen an intense start, with 10 shows in January in Italy and Spain. Viva Lion! will be Touring Italy while writing and recording the full album
expected to be released in May 2014.
