John Yarde was born with musical talent, having gifted genes passed on from his mother, Shirley Yarde, former member of the Nazarene Silver Tones. As a boy, John sang in the Sunday school choir but his real passion was initially found behind the drums.

There was never any intention to be any kind of artiste, worship leader or music minister. John simply believed in doing what he loved.

After staying in the states for 4 months in 2009 and leading worship in his church there, when he returned to Barbados, he asked Island Worship leader Kevin Campbell if he could lead worship. Knowing John only as a drummer, Kevin’s initial response was "Boy go play the drums". Island Worship however, did give John the space to worship lead and have been tremendously blessed by his ministry journey.

Had John stayed behind those drums, today we would not have been graced with hits such as ‘Revival is Possible’ and ‘Know You Better’ his first two singles. Since then he has graced many stages sharing the stage with many Regional artistes such as Sherwin Gardner, Positive, Russell Leonce, Isaac Blackman and international artistel as Ezekiel, Flame, V Rose, Young Noah, William McDowell, Martha Munizi, Canton Jones, Mali Music and Atta Boafo.

Over the years he has developed his own sound, which he calls ‘Prophetic Soul’. A mixture of urban, neo-soul, worship and rock, all with a very soulful finish and very strong messages, which he believes God wants the nations to hear.

This singer songwriter is in the process of starting work on his debut album and is looking forward to the future transitions, as God does through him, the good works for which he was created to do.
