CAMARÁ MERGES TRADITION AND NOVELTY IN MPB
After Camará (2012), its debut album, duo starts to produce its second CD.
Camará is a MPB duo originated in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, composed by Victor Cremasco (voice) and Raphael Amoroso (guitar).
Its first album, launched in 2012, delivered 9 authorial songs that set the musicians’ tone: a mixture between tradition and contemporaneity in MPB, Brazilian popular music.
The name “Camará” comes from the song “Água de Beber” (Water to drink), by the brazilian singer-songwriters Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, to represent the longstanding “camaradagem” (a Portuguese word for “camaraderie”) between Victor and Raphael, both in life and in music. Besides, it is only fair to be inspired by something they drink in a lot – the great names from the past.
Camará is currently beginning the production process of its second CD, with a crowdfunding campaign at Catarse valid until mid December. The album is intended to be released in the first semester of 2015.
