Nikolay Rubanov — saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist ("Auktyon ", "SKA", and others)
"RU-2" project was founded in 1999 in Saint Petersburg, from 2005 to 2015 though the project was temporarily closed, and now is back on track again.
"...the easiest way would be to call it «eco ethno-jazz», because here there is an improvisation typical for jazz music, and the use of sounds delivering the mood of nature, and, at the same time tools and instruments used for each and every composition represent panorama of completely different nations, from the traditional Russian hornpipe to Armenian duduk. The unusual combination of wind instruments by Rubanov and the voice of Polina Runovskaya with the background of cosmic samples creates a certain mood, inviting to a joint meditation, contemplating the eternal questions about the earth and our place in the world, about the nature and our roots, what is within us and outside of us"

"РУ-2" — это Руновская и Рубанов. Полина Руновская – певица, актриса, музыкант. Николай Рубанов – саксофонист, мультимузыкант («Аукцыон», «СКА», и др.). Проект «РУ-2» существует с 1999г., родился в Санкт-Петербурге, с 2005г по 2015г – проект был временно закрыт, сейчас действует вновь.
«Легче всего было бы это назвать "экологическим этно-джазом", поскольку здесь присутствует и импровизация, присущая джазу, и использование таких звуков, которые передают настроения природы, и, в то же время, подобранные для каждой композиции инструменты представляют собой панораму совершенно разных народов: от привычной русской жалейки до армянского дудука. Необычное сочетание духовых инструментов Рубанова и голоса Полины Руновской на фоне космических сэмплов создают определенное настроение, как бы приглашая к совместной медитации, раздумьям на вечные вопросы о земле и о нашем состоянии в мире и в природе, о том, где наши корни и о том, что находится в нас самих и что существует вне нас»
