Im Frühjahr 2015 spielt die Band bei renommierten Zermatt Unplugged Festival und im Sommer sind sie Support für keinen geringeren als Robert Plant. Zudem beziehen die „Kids“ gemeinsam das alte Haus von Bennis Oma und bauen dort zusammen mit Sebastian Specht ein eigenes Recording-Studio auf. Nach monatelangen Renovierungsarbeiten entstehen hier die Aufnahmen zum neuen Album „Black Hat & Feather“. Die erste Single „Jinx“ erscheint bereits im Herbst und kann den Erfolg von „Old One“ sogar noch toppen. Es folgt „Heart in your Glass“ und der Albumrelease im Januar 2016. Die dazugehörige „Black Hat & Feather“ - Tour führt die Band in Kultclubs wie das Berliner Lido oder das Molotow in Hamburg. Mehr als die Hälfte der Termine ist ausverkauft und das Publikum durchweg begeistert.
Im Sommer werden die „Kids of Adelaide“ u.a. beim Lichterfest in Stuttgart zu sehen sein.
The KIDS OF ADELAIDE are an alternative Folk-Rock Band from Stuttgart, existing since winter 2010, when songwriters Benjamin Nolle and Severin Specht decided to start busking in the streets of their hometown. Soon the local indie label „Green Elephant Records“ took notice of them and connected the band with the booking agency „Wizard Promotions“.
The KIDS OF ADELAIDE's music is influenced and inspired by artists like Bob Dylan, Band of Horses, Bon Iver or The Black Keys. Still they sound like no other band, due to their unique setup including bassdrum, foot-tambourine, western and electric guitar, mandolin, piano, harp and two great voices – all played live by only two people.
After several shows as a support band for Robert Plant, Jamie Cullum, Allen Stone or Donavon Frankenreiter and the releases of the records „Home“ (2012) and „Byrth“ (2014), the band spent the time building up an own recording studio together with brother, friend and producer Sebastian Specht. With a new spirit of independence the latest album „Black Hat & Feather“ was recorded there and released in January 2016. The following tour led the band to prestigous places like the Lido in Berlin or the Molotow in Hamburg and the response of the audience exceeded all expectations.
In summer 2016 the KIDS OF ADELAIDE will play at the Lichterfest in Stuttgart.
