Martín Salatino es un músico oriundo de la provincia de Mendoza, Argentina, que inclina sus proyecciones musicales hacia el Folk, Country & Western, Blues, Rock. Músico autodidacta, su rango de influencias recorre caminos que propagan numerosas propuestas y estilos, como también distintos géneros: Desde el Folk de Woodie Guthrie y Bob Dylan, hasta el Rock moderno de Radiohead, Alt+J y Morning Jacket, pasando por artistas como Miles Davis, Astor Piazzolla, The Beatles, Pearl Jam, Pez, Massacre, La máquina de hacer Pájaros, Pescado Rabioso.
Nacido en los tempranos ochenta, Martín toma como vía de escape a su confusión adolescente la música, particularmente la guitarra y el canto, de forma autodidacta. Toda esta genealogía de influencias fue dándole forma, y luego de varias participaciones en proyectos locales, a finales de 2005 conoce a Sebastián Ojer, Martín Filas y Salvador Búcolo, para luego en el transcurso del año 2006 dar forma a lo que sería su más ambicioso y reciente proyecto, ‘Whisky Jarilla’, con quien grabaría 2 discos y un DVD con registros de su primer placa discográfica, editada en 2015 bajo el nombre de ‘El Centro del Mar’. Actualmente la banda está trabajando en lo que serían las presentaciones de su segundo disco, titulado ‘Entusiasmo ciego’, a editarse en los próximos días.
Paralelamente, Martín ha estado trabajando en un sinfín de composiciones que, cualquiera sea el proyecto del que se trate, solista o banda, editarlas para su difusión es el principal objetivo.
Martin Salatino is a musician and songwriter, born in Mendoza, Argentina, whose musical purposes are mainly focused on folk, Country & Western, Blues and Rock. Self-taught person, a huge range of influences sets his style, from Woodie Guthrie and Bob Dylan’s folk, up to Radiohead, Alt+J and Morning Jacket’s Modern Rock, with bits of Miles Davis, Astor Piazzolla, The Beatles, Pearl jam, Pez, Massacre, La Máquina de hacer Pájaros and Pescado Rabioso on its way.
Born in the early eighties, Martín sees music as a way of running away from adolescence. First the guitar, then the development of his voice has made this self-taught musician what he currently is. After having participated in many local projects, in 2005 he meets Sebastián Ojer, and, together with Martín Filas and Salvador Búcolo, Whisky Jarilla was born and ready to hit the road. After ten years, an Album + DVD and an about-to-be-released brand new LP is on the way.
Martín never stops writing songs, and just doesn’t stop and think what project is going to be for. His aim is just write and tell what is happening inside of his mind.
