Na’ Que Ver started rocking high school and underground gigs around September 2002 in Lima, Peru. The first sounds witnessed their early pop-punk music influences but always wanting to push their own style. A year later they discovered Ska music and started to mix up genres until the where able to pull up their own Ska-punk sound, always being open minded to fill up songs with other rhythms and influences of the current bands there are hearing and the time in life they are experiencing.
Their first EP “Asi estamos” went out in 2004, and then mastering their first full album “No mirar atras” in 2007, with 15 songs that mixed punk, ska, rock, reggae and funk, along with two music videos. Its proposal to combine different genres as well as their explosive live shows, make them became one of the most interesting acts in the local scene.
In 2009 the band decided to take a break in order to focus on personal projects. After a six years hiatus, its members decided to get back together. In order to prepare their comeback, the band started writing new songs. Their last creation, “Nuevos Viejos Ritmos” (New Old Rhythms) just banged the streets in 2016, with a fresh sound and a consolidated lineup that includes trumpet, trombone and a sexy saxophone.
Today, 14 years have passed by and, what started like a children’s music game is materializing in a grown up music project to make people aware that if they smile to life, life will smile back at them, and that Ska-Rock music will always be there as a reminder of good times (Like Catch 22 song says).
