Hola Chica es una banda de indie-pop originaria de Barcelona fundada el año 2012 por Alex Guerra (voz y guitarra rítmica) y Lucas Codes (bajo), quienes decidieron afianzar el proyecto con la incorporación de David Gómez (batería), Víctor Alarcón (sintetizadores) y Victor Tomás (guitarra solista). A lo largo de estos años Hola Chica ha presentado su directo en diversas salas barcelonesas como City Hall, Apolo 2 o Sidecar, entre otras. Es destacable su paso por el concurso Emergenza 2014, el cual les llevó a tocar en el Taubertal Festival (Alemania) tras proclamarse ganadores a nivel nacional.
Su sonido ha sido influenciado por referentes como Metronomy, Foster The People, Tame Impala o Air. Sobre una base de melodías y guitarras pop y añadiendo una buena dosis de sintentizadores logran un sonido fresco y bailable mediante unos temas elegantes y pegadizos.
En Noviembre de 2016, presentaron su LP debut, Magnetism, bajo la producción de Valen Nieto y Marc Cros y la mezcla de Santos Berrocal (Love of Lesbian, Sidonie e Iván Ferreiro, entre otros). Su disco debut ha recibido una gran acogida, apareciendo en medios como MondoSonoro, Enderrock e iCat.cat.
Hola Chica is an indie-pop from Barcelona founded in 2012 by Alex Guerra (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Lucas Codes (bass), who decided to consolidate the project with the addition of David Gomez (drums), Víctor Alarcón (synthesizers ) and Victor Thomas (lead guitar). Throughout these years, Hola Chica presented their live sessions in various venues such as Barcelona’s City Hall, Apollo 2 or Sidecar, among others. It is remarkable their way through the 2014 Emergenza contest, which led them to play in the Taubertal Festival (Germany) after winning the national contest.
Their sound has been influenced by bands such as Metronomy, Foster The People, Tame Impala or Air. On a base of guitars and pop melodies, they add a good dose of synths achieving a fresh and danceable sound through elegant and catchy tunes.
In November 2016, they released their first LP, Magnetism, Blind Records, under the production of Valen Nieto and Marc Cros, and the mixing from Santos Berrocal (Love of Lesbian, Sidonie and Ivan Ferreiro, among others). Their debut album has been very well received with reviews in several media, such as MondoSonoro, Enderrock and iCat.cat..
