Robin Gillard grew up in a musicians family in the wild west of Austria and startet drumming at six. As a kid and youngster he then collected a lot of experience in bands and studios, developing a great sense for groove and melody. In Vienna Robin studied „Jazzdrumming“, started his recordingstudio and got to play with Ramona Kasheer, Großmütterchen Hatz Salon Orkestra, Funkhouser and many more.
The «Hang» entered Robin’s life in 2001 and it immediatly catched his attention with it’s rich, exotic and colourfull tone. The new inspiration then expressed itself in improvisations and compositions which over the years Robin recorded, accompanied by a great bunch of amazing musicians such as Haider Khan, Andrej Prozorov, Ramona Kasheer, Martin Eberle, deeLinde, Stoney Steiner, Walter Singer and Matteo Haitzmann. The album «HangOver» was released in November 2016 and contains 14 pieces of music.
