The organization invited Kaepernick to its annual Bill of Rights awards gala where he and other stars such as Gina Rodriguez, Jane Fonda and Judd Apatow were honored for their work this year. The NFL star, who gained a lot of attention for his decision to kneel during the national anthem at games, was awarded the Eason Monroe Courageous Courage Award, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On November 21, 1970 she told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." At Duke University in North Carolina she repeated what she had said in Michigan, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism. PM Justin Trudeau wants Canada to reintegrate returning ISIS fighters
Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau announced in Parliament last week that ISIS fighters returning to Canada who broke Canada’s anti-terrorism laws would be prosecuted, but he also announced that the government would try to reintegrate them into society.
“We recognize the return of even one individual (who joined the ISIS group) may have serious national security implications,” Trudeau said. “We are going to monitor them. We are also there to help them to let go of that terrorist ideology.”
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said the chances of rehabilitating the returning ISIS fighters is “remote” because it is too late for an intervention.

Conservative leader Andrew Scheer blasted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for the Liberal plan to “reintegrate” Canadians who return to the country after fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
“These are people who got on a plane to fight for ISIS and watched as our allied soldiers were burned to death in a cage. These are people who got on a plane to go to fight for an organization that sells women and girls into slavery. These are people who left Canada to fight for a group of people who push homosexuals off buildings just for being gay,” Scheer told the House of Commons Monday.
“Can the Prime Minister explain to the House exactly what a program or reintegration service would look like for the people who commit these kinds of atrocities?”

Black Friday Was the Biggest Day Ever for Gun Sales
Some people head out on Black Friday to buy a big-screen TV, or a new coffee machine.
But tens of thousands of Americans this year sought a very different kind of item on what is expected to be the biggest shopping weekend of 2015: guns.
Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesman Stephen Fischer confirmed to Fortune that there were 185,345 background checks on November 27, easily beating the previous all time high of 177,170 on December 21, 2012, which was shortly after the Sandy Hook massacre in Connecticut.
The FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) data are widely considered to be the best proxy for gun sales.
With last week’s big jump, four out of the 11 biggest days ever for background checks were on a Black Friday. On the same day last year, the FBI conducted 175,754 checks.
