Riot police respond to an opposition demonstration in the Umoja suburb of Nairobi by firing tear gas to disperse the large crowd.

In the video, filmed on Tuesday afternoon (November 28), riot police fire tear gas to disperse the protesters who were rallying in favour of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The trouble flared as President Uhuru Kenyatta pledged at today's inauguration that he would unite Kenyans.

Kenyatta defeated Odinga in an election that took place in August, the result of which was annulled by the country's Supreme Court.

Odinga and his supporters boycotted the October re-run.

In the video two local citizens express their dismay with last month's election.
