Raw rice - 1 cup
Tur dal - 1/4 cup
Moong dal - 2 tbsps
Split green gram dal - 2 tbsps
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Onion - 1, medium, peeled and sliced
Tomato - 1, large, finely chopped
Green chillies - 3, slit
Ginger - 1/2 " grated
Garlic cloves - 3, whole
Carrot - 1, medium, peeled and cubed
Potato - 1, medium, peeled and cubed
Green peas - fistful (optional)
Salt to taste
Water - 3 1/4 cups
For tempering:
Oil - 2 tbsps OR 1 tbsp ghee+1 tbsp oil)
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon stick - 1"
Bay leaf - 1
Cloves - 5
Cardamom - 1
Cloves - 4
Star anise - 1
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
