Uber is stepping up its game with a whole new fleet of self-driving taxis. On Monday, Volvo agreed to supply the ride-share company with 24,000 new self-driving vehicles starting in 2019. The taxi will be modeled after Volvo's popular XC90, a luxury SUV that can hold up to seven passengers. Chief Executive of Volvo Cars, Hakan Samuelsson said, “The base vehicles incorporate all necessary safety, redundancy and core autonomous driving technologies that are required for Uber to add its own self-driving technology."
