Da Vinci Painting Shatters Record In Christie's Auction

On Wednesday, Leonardo da Vinci's "Salvator Mundi" painting sold for a staggering 450 million dollars at an auction at Christie's Auction House in New York. The sale broke the auction world record, previously set at seventy-six-million dollars for Peter Paul Rubens' "Massacre of the Innocents." “Salvator Mundi” is one of less than 20 paintings by da Vinci known to remain in existence and has now become the only one that belongs to a private owner, though the bidder remains unknown.
