Video has emerged of shop fronts in Paris being damaged after hundreds took part in protests against President Emmanuel Macron's labour reforms.

In the video, filmed today (November 16), glass front windows of a branch of insurance firm AXA on Boulevard Voltaire have been damaged.

According to the filmer, the protesters threw pieces of tarmac at windows.

Another shop on the same street has been completely boarded up.

Large crowds gathered on Thursday (November 16) across the country to protest against Macron's so-called liberal measures aimed at simplifying France's "code du travail (labour code)."

At least 170 protests were called all over the country by unions according to local media.
