Puzzles with Daddy and Adam\r
\r
Adam and I had fun with all of our puzzles. Then we ended with the amazing and dazzling Gearation learning toy.\r
\r
Here are links to the toys we played with:\r

ABC Wooden Alphabet Puzzle (new model) (Affiliate)\r
\r
Our family doesnt buy everything new, so I dont have links for everything. In most cases, I searched for the product to show you where to buy what I bought used.\r
\r
Adam is 3 1/2. He has not yet started preschool. I am considering home schooling him. I find it amazing how much he is learning already. My job seems to be giving him the right environment to teach himself. Sometimes I demonstrate, but mostly he wants to do everything himself. Sometimes just letting him try by himself is the hardest thing for a parent.\r
\r
He still gets frustrated when he doesnt know how to do something right away. That is our main struggle. Learning patience for ourself. I try to encourage him with the success of putting in the effort. He knows how to so much that he struggled with before. I want him to recognize that with effort he gets better at things. \r

This video starts off with me doing the wooden alphabet puzzle. I have a bit of fun and show similarities like the Z and N letters. This is an older puzle. Now Melisa and Doug have pictures hidden behind each letter. It is not quite a surprise because everything starts revealed, and becomes hidden when we complete the puzzle.\r
\r
I created a pencil rubbing of the letters starting with Z. That creates a bit of a surprise since we all are not as familiar with predicting the next letter when we go through the alphabet backwards. This is one of my favorite parts of the video. Hopefully watching pencil rubbings art is fun for a child too. If you are looking for a quick craft for a child, the pencil rubbing is quite a lot of fun to do.\r
\r
Next I play with a wooden puzzle of two feet. The left and right feet, and ten toes are the pieces. I filmed everything upside down. So a bit awkward. But I flip things upright to show that ten fingers match with ten (10) toes. I dont know where to buy this puzzle. When I figure this out, I will update.\r
\r
After this is three wooden animal puzzles; a sheep. a cow, and a horse. There is a mark on the back of each piece that will help you keep track of which puzzle the piece is part of.\r
\r
Next is the wooden sound fire engine puzzle. Adam does this upside down for the first time, for the sake of the video.\r
\r
Then Adam does the same three animal puzzles I did just a little bit earlier.\r
\r
Adam tells us a joke. I wont spoil the punch line, but it is about a rubber chicken. The background song is a bit loud here, so let me know if you cant hear it.\r
\r
A favorite toy is the magnet fishing pole puzzle. Each piece can be picked up and placed. Letting go often needs a helping hand.\r
\r
The last puzzle is another animal puzzle.\r
\r
We end with an open ended toy called Gearation. It is great to watch Adam understanding gears so well on his own. The payoff of this is also great. If you dont have time to watch the whole video, skip to 39 minutes in to see this. It is awesome for children of almost any age. A great gift too. Part of a beginning STEM education :-).\r
