Aoe2 HD: Turks Fast Imperial Age (Gunpowder Blitzkrieg)

In this match I played as the Turks on the map Scandinavia in a 3v5 between me and the viewers. This time I went for a Fast Imperial Age strategy, in which I tried to get the Imperial Age quickly in order to overwhelm my opponents with a huge technology advantage. Since the Turks get Chemistry for free they are able to produce Gunpowder units immediately after they get to the Imperial Age. Assuming that you do not die before you get to the Imperial Age, the Hand Cannoneers, Janissaries, and Bombard Cannons can be incredibly hard for your opponents to deal with since they will all be in the Castle Age. This strategy is ually extremely powerful on maps that are easier to defend on than Scandinavia, and is also even more devastating if your teammates sling (tribute) you resources. The 2 biggest weaknesses of this strategy are that you are extremely vulnerable before the Imperial Age and that your economy will be very weak compared to all the other players. The most important aspect of this rush is to remember to build an economy after the initial attack. This strategy also revolves around staying in the Dark Age a bit longer than usual and using the Market to buy resources to advance. \r
