Footage has emerged of a man being rescued by NY Waterway crew members while drowning in the Hudson River after jumping in the water in Lower Manhattan.

The man stole a cab on North End Ave. in Battery Park City and drove three blocks to River Terrace, where he jumped from the seawall into the river on Monday morning (November 3), police said.

Jonathan who shot the scene explains that "the crew aboard the ferry Thomas Kean saw the incident, and within seconds, several NY Waterway ferry boats surrounded him and were helping him to safety."

With the help of a rolled ladder, the man managed to climb up onto the boat.

The thief finally was handed to the police who were quickly on the scene.
