INGREDIENTS

Whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups (atta/godhuma pindi)
Chickpea flour - 1/4 cup (besan/senaga pindi)
Semolina - 1 1/2 tbsp (sooji rava) (optional)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp (haldi/pasupu)
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp (laal mirch/karam podi)
Coriander powder - 1 tsp (dhania/dhaniyala podi)
Carom seeds - 1/2 tsp (ajwain/vaamu)
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp (hing/inguvai
Kasoori methi - 1 1/2 tbsp, crushed (dried methi leaves) (optional)
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tbsps, hot
Water as required to make poori dough
Oil for deep frying
