Heres a demo / playthrough / review of my Chibson Les Paul Custom (Chinese Gibson knock off). I think its beautiful, but looks arent everything.\r

Disclaimer: Im not going to delve into the ethical implications of buying a guitar from a company that makes its business from producing counterfeit guitars. This post only deals with my experience with the guitar itself. \r

I really should have known it was too good to be true. A Les Paul Custom replica from China specd out exly the way I wanted it. It would be a combination between my treasured 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom and my beloved ESP Eclipse II. It would have a mahogany body, a mahogany neck, an ebony fingerboard, a volute, a custom designed purple satin finish, and a custom-designed logo. All for $300. But much like Chelseas new-2016 campaign, while everything looked good on paper, its so far been a disaster.\r

I know some people say they have gotten very good Chibson guitars. Even with one of the supposed best sellers in the business, I cannot call my experience a success. It may sound alright, but with every season, the guitar gets gradually more and more unplayable. In theory, the Chibson could have been amazing; a completely custom guitar at $300 is an amazing proposition. Even potential buyers that stumble on this post or my video review will be tempted by the idea. From my perspective, its just not worth it. For the same money you can get a guitar from a reputable brand, like a Harley Benton or a used Epiphone. Whats more, those guitars will still be playable in two years time. My Chibson is already destined to spend its life as an expensive art piece. Besides the f these sellers make most of their money selling counterfeit versions of more expensive guitars and shouldnt be supported for this price, the instruments can just be downright crap. You just wont know until it reaches your door and good luck getting a refund. Do yourself a favor, and dont waste your time with Chibson guitars. \r
