LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed a hope that the newly formed ‘ Dolphin Force ’ would improve Punjab police image.

Addressing the passing out ceremony of the Dolphin force, the chief minister said the force has been formed to safeguard the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province.

“The idea of having such [kind of] force has been taken from Turkey. I hope this force will set a similar standard of Turkish smart policing here,” CM Sharif anticipated.

The provincial government has spent funds worth billions of rupees on the formation of Dolphin Force. As many as 700 policemen were equipped with smart devices since its formation back in 2013.

Moreover, the chief minister anticipated that the force would set examples with regard to rooting out crimes in the province.
