Diwali celebrations at the holiest of Sikh shrines Harmandar Sahib, popularly called Golden Temple, were marked by zillions of lights, tens of thousands of devout and a scintillating fireworks display.
గోల్డెన్ టెంపుల్ ను శ్రీ హరమందిర్ సాహిబ్ అని కూడా అంటారు. సంవత్సరం పొడవునా లక్షలాది భక్తులు దీనిని సందర్శిస్తారు. అమ్రిత్సర్ లో కల ఈ ప్రదేశం 16 వ శతాబ్దంలో అయిదవ సిక్కు గురు గురు అర్జన్ దేవ్ జి నిర్మించారు. 19 వ శతాబ్దపు మొదటి భాగంలో మహారాజ రంజిత్ సింగ్ గురుద్వారా యొక్క పై అంతస్తులను 400 కే జి ల బంగారుతో పూత వేశారు కనుక దీనిని ఇంగ్లీష్ లో గోల్డెన్ టెంపుల్ అంటారు.
