From Native American Folklore, most commonly the Algonquian tribes, the Gitaskog is known as an underwater horned sea serpent. This aquatic beast is best known to live in freshwater, most commonly lakes, and dine on human flesh. Popular in European folklore, the Wyvern is a legendary creature with a dragons head and wings, a reptilian body, two legs, as opposed to a dragon which has four legs, and a tail, air based Wyverns tails look similar to that of a common dragon whereas a Sea-Wyvern has a tail which resembles a fish. The Wyvern is known as a cousin to Dragons, appearing mainly in legends from the Middle Ages, they tend to be smaller, weaker and less intelligent than their winged cousins. Most of these beasts breathe poison. Sea-Wyverns, are known to be malicious, often preying on creatures that stop to drink from their watery homes, such as deer, goats, or small humans.\r

In Buddhist mythology, Apalala was a man named Gangi who used charms to restrain the power of a wicked dragon who was tormenting his village. But after the town refused to pay him tribute for his deed, he prayed to transform into a dragon and wreak havoc upon the villagers. His wish was granted and Apalala became a water dragon and brought much horror onto his enemies, raising hailstorms and floods while feasting on crops. As the story goes, Apalala converted to isBuddhism after being mentored by Buddha. In legend, this creature lives in the source of the Swat River. \r

From Chinese Mythology the Dragon King is widely regarded as the divine ruler of an ocean. These water gods have the ability to shapeshift into human, dragon and water forms, in some stories appearing as tornados, and to manipulate the weather, especially rainfall. They are said to live underwater in their crystal palaces. There are rumoured to be four Dragon Kings, each ruling one of the Four Seas, the Eastern Sea, the Southern Sea, the Northern Sea and the Western Sea. Many Chinese villages have temples dedicated to these deities, which in stories can be merciful and prevent floods or vengeful creating massive storms. \r

1 - Cthulhu\r
Created by H. P. Lovecraft was first introduced in the short story The Call of Cthulhu, which was featured in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928. Cthulhu is known as the Great Old One. This creature of recent legend is worshipped as an ancient evil God by cultists and is often invoked by unsuspecting Satanists, or Cartman in the popular South Park cartoon. Born from the watery depths, Cthulhu is described as a mix between a giant octopus, a man and a dragon, standing over 100 feet tall, with webbed human-looking arms and legs and a pair of bestial wings on its slimy back. Its eyes are said to glow red with a large number of tentacles surrounding its gaping mouth. It is said that simply looking upon this sea creature will drive the viewer insane.
