In 1989 ICE CUBE leaved N.W.A because N.W.A's manager JERRY HELLER wasn't payin the groups members what they deserved.
ICE CUBE started his solo career in 1990 with the album 'AMERIKKKA'S MOST WANTED' produced by PUBLIC ENEMY's production team. The same year N.W.A without ICE CUBE released the ep '100 MILES AND RUNNIN' dissin ICE CUBE on this track, ICE CUBE fired back with ''JACKIN FOR BEATS'' from his ep 'KILL AT WILL'. In 1991 N.W.A released their second album 'NIGGAZ 4 LIFE' dissin ICE CUBE on the track ''REAL NIGGAZ'', ICE CUBE answered again with ''NO VASELINE'' from his second album 'DEATH CERTIFICATE'. In 1991 after DR. DRE left also the group, N.W.A split and they followed solo careers.
In 1993 EAZY-E and ICE CUBE talked about an N.W.A reunion without DR. DRE (at the time DR. DRE had beef with EAZY-E, that's another part though!). In 1994 ICE CUBE and DR. DRE teamed up on the track ''NATURAL BORN KILLAZ'' and they said that through DEATH ROW RECORDS they'd release an album together named 'HELTAH SKELTAH', none of those two projects happened though....
