New Years Mochi Sheep Needlefelt Kit - ASMR Crafting

Happy new! Its the Year of the Sheep and I was so excited to try this new Hamanaka felt kit. I love the f that it combines several New Years traditions from Japanese and Chinese culture. The sheep stack together to resemble kagami mochi which are rice cakes that are made as part of Japanese New Years (oshogatsu) celebrations. Kagami-mochi are topped off with a green-leafed tangerine (daidai), symbolising continuance of family generations. The backdrop of red and gold and considered very lucky colours in China, and will bring good fortune to your home. \r
