The iconic Colosseum in Rome is to reopen its top tier to the public for the first time in four decades.

Once reserved for the plebeian class, the fifth and highest level will, from November 1, offer visitors an almost birds-eye-view of both the amphitheatre and the Italian capital.

Culture Minister, Dario Franceschini has been promoting the upcoming restoration of the underground level, called the view ‘unforgettable’, adding:
“With the construction of the arena, it will be truly possible to understand what it meant to watch a performance at the Colosseum.”
