British carrier easyJet has had a bumper summer.

The budget airline reports record high sales and forecasts headline profit before tax of around 450 million euros for the year ended September 30.

EasyJet’s performance directly contrasts with the collapse of a British carrier this week. Monarch succumbed to tough competition from budget airlines.

It comes as Irish low-cost airline Ryanair offered its pilots considerable improvements in pay and working conditions after the cancellation of over 700,000 flights damaged both its share prices and reputation.

Analysts says the turmoil in the industry could further strengthen the surviving airlines.
