Hi Guys and Gals its been a while since my last Thomas and friends video and I apologize for that. I plan to do several Thomas and friends videos in a row to make up for it. Starting today with Yellow Pre Sodor Victor from Plarail.\r
\r
LOOKS:\r
\r
Victor looks great it has the Cuban railways livery faithful to the , it also has good painted on details and only 1 sticker (for the back of the cab). The face is great and he is looking off to the side in puzzlement as if to question the slow speed of the salvage workers that pull him from the sea.\r
\r
Kevin is small and plastic and looks good enough, his functionality is limited to rolling wheels and a crane arm that goes up and down, all his details are printed on. He comes with his own wagon which is the same as the earlier TOMY green flat wagons.\r
\r
Breakdown crane (red) narrow gauge, the tooling is identical to the earlier green version although this new one is 5 grams lighter than the old one.\r
\r
RUNS:\r
\r
Victor runs very well, it is powered by a flat type drive unit and powered by a single AA battery. This drive unit is not too quiet and not too noisy and pulls the train along well at a good speed even up the hill proved not to hard for Victor. Comparing this drive unit to the trackmaster one is like night and day the standard trackmaster Victor made a horrible noise.\r
\r
CONCLUSION:\r
\r
This is a good set and well worth buying if you can find it on ebay for under $50 incl postage. I have seen them for up to $100 on ebay so beware of sellers trying to cash in because it is so new. The included crane and wagon as well as Kevin make this a great set. It is kind of bizarre on the timing of this release as it would have been much better last year but oh well better late than never :D\r
\r
I give this Victor 9/10 (the sticker is a point loser). I also give the overall set 9/10 play value is rather limited but still a good looking train to run.\r
\r
Thanks for watching!
