About Gore Reviews:\r
Gore Reviews is a reviewreviewing blood and gore effects in games that are considered gory.\r
\r
Attention to detail will be rewarded with high scores, while flashy, but superficial effects (such as blood puffs) will not imp the score much.\r
The final score is calculated by the following categories:\r
Body damage - 30%\r
Environment - 30%\r
Animations and sounds - 30%\r
The feel - 10%\r
\r
Why is gore important? Its simply feedback for the ion on the screen. Whats more fun, seeing detailed response for every hit you make on an enemy or seeing the enemy sleeping peacefully after a mortar exploded by their feet? Compare 1987`s Robocopto new`s Robocop . Also Saving Private Ryan wouldnt have nearly the same effect without the gore too.\r
\r
\r
Why are the scores so damn low?\r
In a gore system there are many aspects a developer can nail.. Or completely mess up. Eventually I dont want a game with neat, but basic effects to be only 10-15 points away from a game that is a masterpiece when it comes to damage response. \r
