Le Mans 24 (Sega) Supermodel 0.3 SVN 494 (almost perfect now)
One of the games Ive been most interested in following the progress of in recent Supermodel updates is Le Mans 24, probably because its the last Model 3 arcade racer that up until recently still had a lot of graphical bugs. Ive uploaded a video of Le Mans before using a special shader file, which sorted some of the problems out, but was still far from perfect.\r

However, the latest version of Supermodel has fixed all the issues with the rain effects and the water thrown up from the cars wheels and the black blobs that appeared in the sky, its looking a damn sight closer to the arcade version now. The only thing missing are the specular lighting effects, which have been turned off on purpose (by one of the Supermodel co-authors) in this build of Supermodel as they are still not working properly in some games.\r

Unlike my previous Le Mans upload Ive decided to keep the game in 4:3 aspect ratio here, as when you play in wide screen the sky doesnt fill the extra bits added either side of the screen, so I think it looks better this way.\r

Ive mentioned this before, but I really have developed a bit of a new found appreciation for this game in recent years. I used to just think of it as the slightly weird handling, not as good looking as Scud Race or Daytona USA 2 model 3 racer. But the thing is, the dynamic transition from day to dusk to night to dawn and changing weather effects wouldve been pretty revolutionary back in 1997. And yeah, the handling does feel a bit strange compared to some other Sega racers, but as long as youre playing this with a wheel and not a pad I think it controls just fine. And Jadore the music in this game, it perfectly suits the continental race vibe the rest of the game has.
