How Brie Larson Didn't Feel Pretty Enough to Be a Hollywood Star

Brie Larson now has an Academy Award on her shelf somewhere, but she admits it wasn’t easy to foresee such success in her acting career.
She tells PORTER magazine, “I just didn’t feel confident in myself, I didn’t feel pretty enough. I thought I’d be a supporting character my whole life and I was struggling with the idea of being the star.”
Now, the 27-year-old actress is a household name and will grace the big screen as Captain Marvel in an upcoming superhero movie. Thankfully, that’s given her some of the confidence she once lacked.
She tells PORTER, “I’ve been on sets where I didn’t feel safe, I’ve felt objectified. But as I’m getting older I’m realizing that I can value myself, I’m allowed to.”
Now Brie can be confident that her career will only get better as time goes on.
