A video has emerged from Jacksonville, Florida, of a couple nursing a baby squirrel back to health after Hurricane Irma devastated the area.

The footage, captured on September 18 in Jacksonville, shows a woman carrying the five-week-old squirrel in her arms and taking it home to recover.

The couple named the squirrel Rocky. In the video they can be seen feeding Rocky squirrel formula from a bottle.

''After Hurricane Irma came through Jacksonville my wife and I decided to go explore our neighborhood for damage,'' the filmer later wrote online.

''We discovered a small squirrel badly beaten under a tree and near an overflowed pond.''

''My wife scooped him up and asked me if we could help it. I thought we could so we took him home and dried him out and ordered some squirrel formula from Amazon,'' he added.
