Are they real or are they fake? Here are the most mysterious and mythical creatures around like the unicorn and the chupacabra.\r

10. The Doppelganger\r
The german word translates to “double walker” usually whats associated with them are unfortunate events. Its said that doppelgangers are known to be harbingers of bad luck and that if someone were to ever meet their evil-twin like double that they would bring about the original persons death.\r

9. The Unicorn\r
These fabled horses are believed to be the ultimate symbol of purity. The unicorn is described as a majestic looking creature, usually white, with its famous horn protruding from its forehead. This animal has also been a frequently recurring theme in many widely known pieces of literature and film, such as the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.\r

8. Lycans\r
More commonly referred to as “werewolves”, these creatures are said to be cursed humans that are slaves to the full moon and transform once a month. The “curse” is said to be passed from one person to another by the form of either a bite or scratch. Lycanthropy dates back to as early as the 15th century where individuals were persecuted as “wolf charmers”. These mythical creatures are believed to be nothing more than just myths as there is no recorded solid evidence to prove their existence.\r

7. Vampires\r
These creatures of the night can be traced all the way back to the 19th century and are somewhat involved in most cultures around the world but under different names. Vampires are amongst the most famous monsters that are believed to roam the Earth as people who have risen from the dead and are now, more or less, undead beings who search for the life force they need to feed on:blood. Many people have claimed to encounter one of these and others swear of their existence, though no tangible proof has been brought forward.\r

6. Mermaids\r
Mermaids and merfolk have been described as having the upper torso of a human and from the waist down the tail of a fish. Mermaids have been the thing of many childhood dreams ever since The Little Mermaid was released and have been around even longer. There have been many reported sightings throughout history, though none proven, that have managed to add fuel to the fire that these aquatic creatures exist. \r

5. Champ\r
This is probably the Loch Ness Monsters lesser known cousin, Champ, who is said to live in the waters of Lake Champlain, located in New York. The first reported sighting of this sea creature was way back in 1609 by Samuel De Champlain. The following photograph was taken in the 1970s by a woman who appears to have captured what may or may not be Champ itself.\r

4. The Jersey Devil\r
The origin of this mythical beast is said to be the 13th child born from Mother Leeds, a woman who was supposedly a witch during the 1700s, and the Devil himself. There ually was a woman named Deborah Leeds who lived in the area that is now Atlantic County, New Jersey, and her husband had left a will that named 12 children. The Jersey Devil is said to look like a kangaroo with the head of a goat, a forked-tail, bat-like wings, and hooves that resemble the Devils. Historians believe this to be nothing more than a fabricated hoax, but who knows?\r

3. The Chupacabra\r
The legendary mythical creature whose name literally translates to “goat-sucker” was first reported in Puerto Rico some 21 years ago in 1995. Eight goats were discovered with the same cause of death, 3 puncture wounds to the neck where they had all been drained of blood. Similar reports would follow all throughout the Americas in the coming years and there have even been sightings, such as the following image, where people claimed to have seen the monster, however, the creature is still nothing more than a myth. \r

2. The Loch Ness Monster \r
Dubbed as “Nessie”, this famous cryptid is said to be living in the waters of Loch Ness that are located in the Scottish Highlands. The Loch Ness Monster is believed to ually be a plesiosaurs that has taken up residency in the area and there have been many local sightings, along with this famous picture, the surgeons photo, that was taken in 1934 but has since been proven as a hoax. Although, many people are still challenging that this is in f real evidence of the creature.\r
