ACID ATTACK: Woman blinded after noxious liquid thrown in her face while sat in a pub
A WOMAN was left blinded after a thug threw a liquid suspected to be acid in her face while she sat in a pub in a case of mistaken identity.
She temporarily lost the sight in one eye and is receiving further medical attention following the incident.However, police said that they believe the victim is not believed to have been the intended target.An investigation has been launched to determine what the substance was and police are appealing for witnesses to the attack.Detectives are also investigating whether the incident could be linked to two cars seen driving dangerously and colliding with each other through Bury St Edmunds. There have been a a spate of acid attacks throughout the country prompting concern from the police.A 15-year-old boy was arrested but later released on bail in connection with a noxious substance attack in London, which left six people injured at a busy shopping centre. Police were called to the area around the Westfield Stratford Centre in east London shortly before 8pm on Saturday to reports of an altercation between two groups of males during which the substance was sprayed.Six males were hurt in the attack, with their injuries being described as not life-threatening or life-changing.Anyone who witnessed the attack in the pub should call police on 101.. 00FastNews.
