Russia launched a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with a communications satellite from Plesetsk space center, located in the north of the country. Just a few minutes later, at 6:16 a.m. Moscow time (03:16 GMT), the satellite was successfully placed into orbit with all its functions working normally.
